06:30 AM EDT, 08/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Nvidia ( NVDA ) said a proposed Trump administration plan to impose a 15% commission on its AI chip sales to China remains in early discussions and lacks any formal regulatory framework, Bloomberg reported Thursday.
According to the report, the company said late Wednesday that the US government has not provided details on how such a fee would be enforced.
Chief Financial Officer Colette Kress told Bloomberg that if the plan isn't officially implemented, Nvidia ( NVDA ) expects to continue selling to China under existing licenses without paying the commission.
The White House and Commerce Department did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
