Market Chatter: NVIDIA Working With Inspur on new AI Chips for China
Jul 22, 2024 3:10 AM

05:44 AM EDT, 07/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- NVIDIA ( NVDA ) is preparing a version of its new flagship "Blackwell" AI chips for the Chinese market that will be compatible with current US export controls, Reuters reported Monday, citing three sources familiar with the matter.

The company will work with Inspur, one of its major distributor partners in China, on the launch and distribution of the chip which is tentatively named the "B20", two of the anonymous sources told Reuters.

Nvidia's ( NVDA ) most advanced chip for the Chinese market, the H20, initially got off to a weak start when deliveries started this year, but sales are now growing rapidly, the sources said.

The Blackwell chip series is due to be mass-produced later in the year, according to Reuters.

Nvidia ( NVDA ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment on the matter.
