Market Chatter: Nvidia's Latest AI Chips Selling Weakly in China
Sep 16, 2025 4:13 AM

06:55 AM EDT, 09/16/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Nvidia's ( NVDA ) newest artificial intelligence chip for the Chinese market has met with lukewarm demand and some major tech firms have not placed orders, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing two people with knowledge of procurement matters.

Nvidia's ( NVDA ) RTX6000D is seen as too pricey and not powerful enough, the report said. Companies including Alibaba (BABA) are waiting to see whether shipments for the H20 chip will take place after Nvidia ( NVDA ) received permission from the US to restart, according to Reuters.

"The market is competitive -- we offer the best products we can, including performance, efficiency, and market-leading software," a Nvidia ( NVDA ) spokesperson said in an e-mailed statement. "Cybersecurity is critically important to us. NVIDIA ( NVDA ) does not have 'backdoors' in our chips that would give anyone a remote way to access or control them."
