Market Chatter: OpenAI Accelerates Codex Growth Through Consulting Firm Partnerships
Apr 21, 2026 5:57 AM

08:31 AM EDT, 04/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Microsoft ( MSFT )-backed (MSFT) OpenAI is partnering with major consulting firms, including Accenture ( ACN ) , Capgemini, and PricewaterhouseCoopers, to accelerate enterprise adoption of its Codex artificial intelligence coding assistant amid rising competition in the corporate AI market, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday.

The consulting partnerships aim to help companies integrate Codex across broader business functions beyond software development, including marketing, finance, and sales, according to the report, citing OpenAI Chief Revenue Officer Denise Dresser.

The move comes as OpenAI said Codex reached 4 million weekly users, up from 3 million two weeks earlier, underscoring rapid growth among developers and businesses, the report added.

OpenAI and Accenture ( ACN ) didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
