04:11 PM EDT, 03/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Microsoft ( MSFT )-backed (MSFT) OpenAI plans to discontinue the app for its Sora video platform, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday, citing the artificial intelligence firm.

OpenAI appears to be refocusing on business and coding functions ahead of a possible initial public offering as soon as Q4, according to the report.

OpenAI did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
