06:17 AM EDT, 06/05/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Microsoft ( MSFT )-backed (MSFT) OpenAI will comply with US President Donald Trump's new executive order that allows the government's assessment of AI models before public release, CNBC reported Friday, citing George Osborne, the company's head of countries.

The order asks AI companies to grant the US government access to their AI models 30 days before launch, the news outlet said. Osborne told CNBC that OpenAI plans to sign up for this voluntary order, according to the report.

OpenAI did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for a comment.
