03:37 PM EDT, 08/12/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Paramount Skydance ( PSKY ) considered creating an editorial board for CNN to address concerns about the network's independence, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the situation.

Paramount's deal to buy CNN's parent, Warner Bros. Discovery ( WBD ) , is currently on hold following an antitrust lawsuit filed by California and 11 other states, with a trial scheduled for March.

Internal discussions on the oversight committee for CNN's news operations began before the lawsuit was filed, the report said.

Paramount Skydance ( PSKY ) and CNN did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
