Market Chatter: Pfizer CEO Says Vaccine Approvals in US Are "Harder to Get"
Oct 15, 2025 9:34 AM

12:07 PM EDT, 10/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Pfizer ( PFE ) Chief Executive Officer Albert Bourla said vaccine approvals are "harder to get" in the US amid changes to the country's immunization policies, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday, citing comments at a CNBC event in Washington.

Bourla said the situation is "an anomaly that will correct itself," the report said.

"It's not harder to get drug approvals right now," Bourla said, according to the report.

China's pharmaceutical industry is "remarkable," thanks to its investments in institutions and universities, along with intellectual property protections, and the Asian nation may overtake the US "unless we get our act together," Bourla said, according to the report.

Pfizer ( PFE ) did not immediately respond to a request for comment. MT Newswires.
