Market Chatter: Qatar Airways Chief Confirms Talks With Boeing, Airbus for Wide-Body Jet Order

07:41 AM EDT, 06/03/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Qatar Airways Chief Executive Badr Mohammed Al Meer confirmed Monday that the carrier is in talks with Boeing ( BA ) and Airbus to buy wide-body jets, Reuters reported.

Meer told reporters that a Bloomberg report that the airline was in talks to to buy some 200 A350 and Boeing 777X wide-body aircraft was largely correct, according to Reuters.

Meer said the talks were for a three-digit order, but said the figure cited in the report was off by around 30%, the report said.
