02:08 PM EDT, 09/05/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Qualcomm ( QCOM ) Chief Executive Officer Cristiano Amon said Intel's ( INTC ) current production technology is not good enough for the chipmaker to be contracted as a supplier, Bloomberg reported Friday.
Qualcomm ( QCOM ) would consider being a customer of Intel ( INTC ) if the chipmaker is able to improve its manufacturing techniques to make more efficient chips, Amon said, according to the report.
"Intel ( INTC ) is not an option today," Amon was quoted by Bloomberg. "We would like Intel ( INTC ) to be an option."
Qualcomm ( QCOM ) will continue with current producers Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing ( TSM ) and Samsung Electronics, the report said.
Intel ( INTC ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
