Market Chatter: Qualcomm, MediaTek May Lose Xiaomi Sales as Chinese Firm Prepares In-House Mobile Chip

06:46 AM EST, 11/27/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Chip designers Qualcomm ( QCOM ) and MediaTek may lose sales from Xiaomi as the Chinese smartphone giant prepares to design in-house processors for its upcoming phones, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Mass production of the in-house chips is expected to begin next year, the report said.

Xiaomi, Qualcomm ( QCOM ) and MediaTek did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
