07:48 AM EDT, 06/18/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Stellantis' ( STLA ) Ram Trucks plans to launch a 10-year or 100,000-mile warranty for its 2026 vehicle lineup, marking a key element of its 18-month turnaround strategy, CNBC reported Wednesday, citing Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis.
The new warranty will cover major components, including the engine, transmission, transfer case, driveshafts, differentials, and axles. Currently, Ram offers a five-year or 60,000-mile warranty.
Kuniskis expects the offer to attract new buyers, retain loyal customers, and potentially win back previous owners. He called the offering "the best truck warranty in the business."
If customer reception is strong, the extended warranty could remain in place beyond this year, the CEO said.
The report said longer-term warranties can cost car manufacturers "billions of dollars if mass-produced vehicles end up having quality problems," however, Kuniskis believes the rewards outweigh the risks.
