08:02 AM EST, 11/29/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Reddit ( RDDT ) is intensifying its push for international user growth, focusing on markets like India and Brazil to unlock new advertising opportunities, Chief Operating Officer Jen Wong told CNBC.
With about 50% of its users outside the US, Reddit ( RDDT ) sees untapped potential in global markets, supported by artificial intelligence-powered translations into up to 30 languages by year-end, Wong told CNBC in an interview.
India, a rapidly growing market with high engagement around topics like cricket and Bollywood, presents a key opportunity for localized advertising strategies as Reddit ( RDDT ) looks to grow ad revenue beyond the 17% contribution from international markets reported in Q3, the report noted.
The platform also plans to enhance user experience with improved search tools, positioning itself for deeper engagement in emerging markets. "We're testing a lot of things," Wong told CNBC, without sharing further details.
