10:04 AM EDT, 04/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- A former Boeing (BA) quality manager said that people working on the 787 Dreamliner jetliners were discouraged from pointing out problems, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.
Roy Irvin, who retired in 2020, said workers were also discouraged from recommending changes to prevent problems in the future, according to the report.
"I was told, 'We don't have enough time to do corrective actions, so don't write one'," the report quoted Irvin as saying in an interview.
The report said that Irvin's written account will be included in a congressional hearing Wednesday, where a veteran Boeing ( BA ) engineer, who had publicly aired his concerns about 787 joints, will testify.
Boeing ( BA ) didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
