Market Chatter: Riyadh Air in Talks for 50 Widebody Jets from Boeing, Airbus
Feb 3, 2025 6:15 AM

08:46 AM EST, 02/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Riyadh Air is in talks with Boeing ( BA ) and Airbus to buy up to 50 additional widebody aircraft as it expands its fleet, Bloomberg reported Monday, citing sources with knowledge of the discussions.

The airline is considering Boeing's ( BA ) 777X and Airbus's A350-1000 models and is looking to secure delivery slots, the sources reportedly said.

Riyadh Air reportedly told Bloomberg it recently issued a request for widebody aircraft.

Boeing ( BA ) reportedly said, in response to Bloomberg's query, that it regularly discusses fleet needs with potential customers, while Airbus declined to comment on a possible order, citing confidentiality in customer discussions.

Riyadh Air, Boeing ( BA ) and Airbus did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
