06:53 AM EDT, 04/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Riyadh Air is ready to purchase Boeing ( BA ) planes originally intended for Chinese carriers if deliveries are halted due to the ongoing US-China trade conflict, CEO Tony Douglas told Reuters on Monday.
"What we've done... is made it quite clear to Boeing ( BA ), should that ever happen, and the keyword there is should, we'll happily take them all," Douglas said in an interview with Reuters on the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market conference.
Boeing ( BA ) recently flagged the possible resale of dozens of aircraft tied up by trade tensions driven by strong demand in the current tight jet market, according to the report.
Riyadh Air, backed by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, has already ordered 60 Airbus A321s and up to 72 Boeing 787 Dreamliners ahead of its launch.
