08:43 AM EDT, 10/04/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Robinhood Markets ( HOOD ) is considering offering British users the ability to invest in UK stocks, as the fintech company seeks growth outside the US market, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing Chief Executive Vlad Tenev.
The company recently launched commission-free trading for over 6,000 US-listed stocks in the UK and is evaluating retirement products, with margin trading expected to launch in the coming weeks in the UK, the report said.
"We are looking ahead to multi-currency wallet support and local execution, including the London Stock Exchange," Tenev said in an interview with Bloomberg TV.
Tenev also hinted at driving a "zero commission revolution" for trades done by clients in the UK, according to the report.
Robinhood shares were up 1.7% in recent premarket activity.
