Market Chatter: Salesforce Back in Talks to Buy Informatica

04:21 PM EDT, 05/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Salesforce ( CRM ) is in talks to buy Informatica ( INFA ) in a renewed attempt after a previous effort fell through last year, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

A final decision has not been made, and the deal could still collapse or draw interest from other buyers.

Cloud Software Group has also reportedly expressed interest in acquiring Informatica ( INFA ).

Informatica ( INFA ) carries about $1.9 billion in debt, Bloomberg data show.

Informatica's ( INFA ) shares were up more than 17%, while Salesforce ( CRM ) stock was down 3.6% in recent trading.

Salesforce ( CRM ), Cloud Software Group, Informatica ( INFA ) and Permira, which backs Informatica ( INFA ), did not immediately respond to requests for a comment from MT Newswires.
