09:41 AM EDT, 04/29/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Shell (SHEL) allegedly earns approximately $1 billion a year from trading crude oil, according to court documents in a lawsuit filed against the company by a former employee, Reuters reported Monday.
The lawsuit, which was filed by former oil trading manager Eva-Maria Frohn, alleges Shell breached its contract when Frohn turned down an offer to transfer to a new job she claims did not pay as well as the job she held, Reuters reported. Shell argues Frohn effectively resigned by rejecting the transfer.
The court documents show that in a deposition last year, another former manager in Shell's crude oil trading group in Houston said that the unit made $950 million to $1 billion a year, according to the report.
Shell did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
