12:08 PM EST, 02/06/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Shell (SHEL) and TotalEnergies (TTE) signed liquefied natural gas deals with Egypt worth about $3 billion to supply 60 cargoes to satisfy demand for 2025, Reuters reported Thursday, citing three trading sources.
The country, which became a net natural gas importer last year, abandoned plans to supply Europe after a sharp drop in domestic production, the report said.
Shell declined to comment, and TotalEnergies and Egypt's petroleum ministry didn't respond immediately to requests for comment, Reuters said.
