02:06 PM EDT, 05/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- A US trade group representing solar manufacturers is asking the US International Trade Commission to address a tariff loophole on panel imports from four Southeast Asian countries, Bloomberg reported Tuesday.
The American Alliance for Solar Manufacturing said in a petition that a significant amount of stored equipment from Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam could flood the market unless the panel expedites publishing a decision to implement duties ranging from 34% to 3,521%.
The ITC previously said it expects to publish the decision by June 30 but the trade group has asked the agency to post it by June 2.
The American Alliance for Solar Manufacturing and the US ITC did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
