Dec 30, 2024 5:26 AM

08:02 AM EST, 12/30/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing Company ( BA ) planes operated by all airlines in South Korea will be inspected by the country's transport ministry following the crash of one of the plane maker's 737-800 aircraft, Reuters reported Monday.

A Jeju Air Boeing 737-800 crashed Sunday at Muan International Airport, killing 179 people on board.

"As soon as the accident recovery is conducted, the transport ministry is requested to conduct an emergency safety inspection of the entire aircraft operation system to prevent recurrence of aircraft accidents," acting President Choi Sang-mok said, according to media reports.

Boeing ( BA ) did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
