08:45 AM EDT, 04/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Southwest Airlines Company ( LUV ) expects only about 20 of the 46 planes it had been promised by Boeing (BA) to be delivered this year, Reuters reported Friday, citing unnamed sources.
Boeing's overall deliveries fell by half in March as production of 737 MAX slowed over concerns about quality.
The delivery shortfall will put pressure on Southwest ( LUV ), which flies only Boeings. The company originally counted on receiving 85 Boeing MAX jets this year, Reuters reported.
Southwest ( LUV ) and Boeing did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
