04:15 PM EDT, 05/01/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Spirit AeroSystems ( SPR ) has developed a plan to keep up with expected demand for components by Boeing ( BA ) for its 737 Max passenger jets, while matching quality and safety standards, a Spirit spokesperson told Reuters Wednesday.
Boeing ( BA ) is looking to increase the production of its narrowbody 737 passenger jets to 38 during the second half of 2024. Boeing's ( BA ) aggressive goals will require Spirit to also ramp up production of fuselage and other 737 Max components, company spokesperson Joe Buccino told Reuters. Spirit has a "high degree of confidence" it can keep up with that demand under the new plan.
Spirit expects to provide additional details when the company reports financial results for its fiscal quarter next week.
Spirit did not immediately respond to MT Newswires. The company's stock was fractionally lower Wednesday.
