07:20 AM EDT, 04/15/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Spirit Aerosystems Holdings ( SPR ) is restricting its hiring and overtime amid lower production as output of Boeing's ( BA ) 737 Max jets decline, Reuters reported Friday, citing the company.

Joe Buccino, a spokesperson for Spirit Aerosystems ( SPR ), told Reuters that the company is "aligning production" to support its customer's rate profile, including limited overtime and hiring for specific roles in the near term.

Reuters said Spirit AeroSystems ( SPR ) is a major supplier of Boeing ( BA ), whose Max jetliner production has slowed as US regulators continue factory checks.

Spirit Aerosystems ( SPR ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
