03:12 PM EDT, 10/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Spotify Technology ( SPOT ) has launched the free tier of its music and podcast service in South Korea, Reuters reported Thursday, citing the company.

Users in South Korea are now able to register for a free account to enjoy Spotify's ( SPOT ) playlists, podcasts, and daily mixes, among other features, and may also decide to opt for a premium, ad-supported music service, according to the news outlet, citing the company.

The company reportedly said the move will allow them to more effectively link audiences worldwide with Korean music, especially K-pop.

Spotify ( SPOT ) did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
