04:30 PM EDT, 09/27/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Sociedad Quimica y Minera de Chile ( SQM ) is pursuing new investors to expand beyond its home turf in South America, Bloomberg News reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The company is offering a minority stake in its newly established global lithium division to fund its investments, primarily in Australia, the sources told Bloomberg.
The search for a partner for its international operations, conducted by JPMorgan Chase (JPM), is in its initial phase and focuses on investment funds and key investors instead of different mining firms, according to the news outlet.
SQM did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
