Market Chatter: Stake in Nvidia 'Not on The Table', Says US Treasury Secretary Bessent
Aug 27, 2025 6:55 AM

09:36 AM EDT, 08/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- A potential stake in Nvidia ( NVDA ) is "not on the table," US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in an interview, Fox Business reported Wednesday.

"I don't think Nvidia ( NVDA ) needs financial support, so that seems not on the table right now," Bessent said in a televised interview with Fox Business.

Bessent added there could be other "critical" industries like shipbuilding where a potential stake by the US government could be a possibility.

On Friday, President Donald Trump said Intel ( INTC ) has agreed to provide a 10% stake to the US, worth about $10 billion.

Nvidia ( NVDA ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
