Market Chatter: Starbucks CEO Faces Understaffing Challenges Amid Employee Complaints
Oct 17, 2024 2:30 PM

08:00 AM EDT, 10/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Starbucks ( SBUX ) Chief Executive Brian Niccol is facing understaffing issues as a recent internal survey revealed only 33% of respondents from 10,000 US company-operated stores said staffing levels were consistently sufficient, Bloomberg reported Thursday.

The April survey, shared internally in July, highlighted understaffing as the top concern, impacting worker morale and service, the report said.

Niccol, who took over on Sept. 9, has acknowledged the issue and pledged improvements, according to Bloomberg.

Starbucks ( SBUX ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
