02:02 PM EDT, 06/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Starbucks ( SBUX ) is piloting a protein drink as part of a menu overhaul to focus on the health and wellness category in a bid to reverse sales declines, Bloomberg reported Tuesday.

The trial under its "Starting Five" approach in select US locations involves a sugar-free vanilla latte topped with protein banana cold foam, according to the news outlet.

The company is also exploring baking pastries in-store instead of using precooked products, the report said.

Starbucks ( SBUX ) didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
