12:43 PM EDT, 07/31/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Starbucks' ( SBUX ) former Chief Executive Officer Howard Schultz has called on the company's employees to get on board with current CEO Brian Niccol's plans for growth, which includes a new policy of working on-site four days a week, Bloomberg reported Thursday.
Schultz told employees in an internal meeting that the new return-to-office policy is "the elephant in the room," according to Bloomberg. "We need everybody to buy in, and we need people to work four days a week," Schultz said.
Starbucks ( SBUX ) said earlier this month it will shift from a three-days in office to a four-days in office weekly policy for its corporate employees at the beginning of its new fiscal year starting in October.
The company also tweaked its remote work policy and said that all support center leaders are expected to be based in Seattle or Toronto within 12 months.
