Market Chatter: Starbucks Union Votes to Authorize Strike Ahead of Final Bargaining Stages

10:31 AM EST, 12/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- The Starbucks ( SBUX ) Workers United union said that 98% of union workers voted to authorize a strike, if required, ahead of the final stages of bargaining over contract terms, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday.

The coffee giant has "yet to bring a comprehensive economic package to the bargaining table," the news outlet reported, citing the union, adding that numerous legal issues have yet to be resolved.

Starbucks ( SBUX ) didn't immediately respond to comment, Bloomberg reported.

The company didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for a comment.
