07:29 AM EDT, 05/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Hundreds of Starbucks ( SBUX ) workers have protested against the company's new dress code since Sunday and are likely to hold more strikes in the coming days, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing the Starbucks Workers United union.

The protesting workers walked off their jobs at more than 50 US stores and Starbucks Workers United has filed a complaint with the US National Labor Relations Board over the new dress code, alleging that implementing the changes during contract talks are against the law, the report said.

The new dress code requires baristas to wear solid black tops and also sets rules for bottoms, among other changes, the report added.

Starbucks ( SBUX ) told Bloomberg that the protest has no material impact on national-level operations and most of its locations are still open.

Starbucks ( SBUX ) and Starbucks Workers United did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comments.
