Market Chatter: Stellantis Deal on Turkish Unit to Be Discussed by Competition Regulator
Jan 8, 2025 6:58 AM

09:30 AM EST, 01/08/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Stellantis' ( STLA ) sale of its Turkish distribution business to Tofas Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi will be discussed by the country's competition regulator, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The Turkish Competition Authority's meeting Wednesday will reconsider its previous decision to block the 400 million-euro ($412 million) deal last year due to regulatory concerns, the report said.

Tofas was denied of exclusive rights to import and distribute Stellantis brands in Turkey as a result of that ruling, the report said.

The regulator, Stellantis ( STLA ) and Tofas did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
