01:03 PM EDT, 09/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Sunrun ( RUN ) shares dropped after the company said late Wednesday that it was ending its sales partnership with Costco Wholesale ( COST ) due to an inability to agree on terms, Bloomberg reported Thursday.
Sunrun ( RUN ) said Costco was dissatisfied with its subscription model, which yields less upfront revenue under standard accounting models, Bloomberg said, adding that the partnership, which has lasted over a decade, will end by year-end.
The residential solar provider said the change won't significantly affect its sales volume or cash flow projections, as Costco accounted for less than 10% of its sales in the first half of the year, the report said.
Costco didn't immediately respond to Bloomberg's comment requests.
Sunrun ( RUN ) shares were 4% lower in recent trading.
Neither Sunrun ( RUN ) nor Costco immediately responded to comment requests by MT Newswires.
