06:13 AM EDT, 05/30/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Synopsys ( SNPS ) is pausing services and sales in China and halting new orders in order to comply with new US export restrictions, Reuters reported Friday, citing an internal company letter reviewed by it.

"Based on our initial interpretation, these new restrictions broadly prohibit the sales of our products and services in China and are effective as of May 29," the semiconductor design software company reportedly said in the letter sent to staff in that country.

The measures affect all customers in China, including employees of global customers working at sites in the country and Chinese military users, Reuters reported, citing the letter.

Synopsys ( SNPS ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
