Taiwan Semiconductor also pitched the idea to Qualcomm ( QCOM ) , Reuters reported, citing one of the people and a separate source.

Any final deal would need the Trump administration's approval, according to the report.

Taiwan Semiconductor, Intel ( INTC ), Nvidia ( NVDA ), AMD and Qualcomm ( QCOM ) declined to comment, while the White House and Broadcom did not respond to requests for comment, Reuters reported.

Taiwan Semiconductor, Intel ( INTC ), Nvidia ( NVDA ), AMD, Broadcom, and Qualcomm ( QCOM ) did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
