Market Chatter: Teck Resources to Pay Treatment Charges for Mined Zinc at 3-Year Low
Apr 2, 2024 11:20 AM

01:44 PM EDT, 04/02/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Teck Resources' ( TECK ) agreement to pay Korean Zinc to treat zinc concentrate into refined metal at $165 per metric ton stands at a three-year low, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

Teck Resources ( TECK ) told Reuters it does not comment on negotiations. However, these treatment charges, or TCs, fall when mine output decreases as smelters compete for concentrate, the news outlet said. Korea Zinc declined Reuters' request.

Neither Teck Resources ( TECK ) nor Korean Zinc immediately responded to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
