03:25 PM EDT, 03/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Apple's ( AAPL ) Vision Pro headset will get access to keys applications from Tencent ( TCTZF ) in China, The Information reported Tuesday, citing a person with knowledge of the agreement between the companies.

The accord with Tencent ( TCTZF ), China's largest social media, streaming and gaming company, is significant because Apple's ( AAPL ) streaming service and other US entertainment platforms aren't available in the Asian country, the report said.

In addition to providing the messaging app WeChat, Tencent ( TCTZF ) also operates a video-streaming service used by 450 million people in China at least once a month, The Information said.

Tencent ( TCTZF ) and Apple ( AAPL ) didn't immediately respond to requests for comment by MT Newswires.
