07:31 AM EDT, 06/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla (TSLA) and other automakers must manufacture parts and build their vehicles in the US, Reuters reported Friday, citing US President Donald Trump.

According to the report, Trump made the remarks during a press conference for Elon Musk's departure from the Department of Government Efficiency.

Trump said Musk will "end up building his whole car" in the US, as will other manufacturers, Reuters wrote.

Tesla, Stellantis ( STLA ) , Ford Motor ( F ) , and General Motors ( GM ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comments.
