06:35 AM EDT, 03/20/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla (TSLA) vehicles were cleared by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration after it closed a defect petition covering about 2.26 million cars, finding no safety-related flaw, Reuters reported Friday, citing the US regulator.
The report said the 2023 petition alleged risks of unintended acceleration due to pedal misapplication linked to features such as one-pedal driving.
NHTSA found very few incidents, and data showed vehicles responded as intended, it added.
Tesla did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
