07:00 AM EDT, 08/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- A fire at a Tesla (TSLA) factory that makes vehicle battery packs outside Berlin has led to an evacuation of the premises since Monday, Germany's Handelsblatt reported Thursday.
The report cited extreme heat, leaking gases and a pungent smell inside the plant, where only employees of the factory's fire brigade and cleaners in full protective gear are allowed to enter.
The building, located in the Bradenburg state town of Grunheide, is also where Tesla EV drive units are built, according to a translation of the report.
An internal investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, the report said.
Tesla did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
