06:24 AM EDT, 07/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla (TSLA) has placed senior technology executive Raj Jegannathan in charge of sales operations, Reuters reported Friday, citing sources familiar with the matter.
Jegannathan, who has no sales experience, is believed to have taken over from Troy Jones, the former North America sales head who left earlier this month after 15 years, according to Reuters, which quoted the sources as saying.
The sources also indicated that Jegannathan's role now includes North American and European manufacturing responsibilities previously handled by Omead Afshar, a close associate of Elon Musk who recently departed, Reuters reported.
Jegannathan, who joined Tesla in 2012, reportedly rose through infrastructure and cybersecurity positions and now holds a vice president title overseeing IT and AI systems.
Jegannathan's responsibilities have expanded to include service operations, and he was among Tesla staff sent to X following Musk's acquisition, Reuters reported.
Tesla did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
