06:35 AM EDT, 06/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla's (TSLA) Model 3 and Y vehicles joined the list of 124 electric vehicle and hybrid models in a campaign backed by the Chinese government to promote sales in rural areas, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing China's industry ministry.

BYD's cars that made the list of 99 such vehicles in 2024 largely remain in the latest data, according to the report.

Tesla didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
