11:37 AM EDT, 10/15/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla (TSLA) received the first partial approval for its plan to expand the Gruenheide plant in Germany from the Brandenburg state office for the environment, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday, citing an emailed statement.
According to the report, the partial approval covers expansion of buildings without installing production facilities, the relocation of ancillary facilities, and the construction of a laboratory and a delivery center.
Bloomberg said Tesla plans to expand the Gruenheide plant's production in several partial approval phases, until output doubles to 1 million vehicles and 100 gigawatt hours of battery cells per year.
Tesla and the state office of Brandenburg did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' comment requests.
