Market Chatter: Tesla Sued Over Alleged Cybertruck Door Malfunction in Fatal Crash
Oct 3, 2025 4:15 AM

06:34 AM EDT, 10/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla (TSLA) is facing complaints in California state court by the families of Jack Nelson and Krysta Tsukahara alleging that they would have survived but for the electric vehicle maker's failure to make sure its Cybertruck was crashworthy, Bloomberg News reported Friday.

Tesla was aware for years that vehicle door handles had issues, according to the report.

The suits accuse the company of negligence and seek punitive damages, in addition to compensation for the families' losses, Bloomberg reported.

Tesla did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
