01:27 PM EDT, 10/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla (TSLA) will offer permanent jobs to 500 temporary workers at its German gigafactory in Berlin, starting Nov. 1, Reuters reported Thursday.
Recently, works council head Michaela Schmitz had urged management to reduce temporary positions and convert more workers to permanent roles. The car maker noted that the German union IG Metall was not involved in the decision.
Tesla also did not disclose the total number of temporary workers at the site, the report said.
Tesla didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
