Market Chatter: Tesla Took Leased Cars Back for Use as 'Robotaxis' But Sold Them Instead
May 26, 2025 8:31 AM

07:46 AM EDT, 05/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla (TSLA) permitted customers to lease its Model 3 sedans from 2019 through last November, but forced them to return the vehicles for use in its planned "robotaxi" network, but the EV maker instead flipped many of the cars to new buyers, Reuters reported, citing four people familiar with Tesla's retail operations.

Tesla did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
