11:47 AM EDT, 03/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- TotalEnergies SE ( TTE ) has been released from $1 billion in offshore wind leases by the Trump administration so that the company can redirect that money into oil and natural gas investments in the US, Bloomberg reported Monday, citing comments from Interior Secretary Doug Burgum at a conference.

Under the deal, TotalEnergies is no longer committed to developing wind farms off the coasts of North Carolina, New York and New Jersey, Burgum reportedly said.

TotalEnergies didn't immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
