10:35 AM EDT, 03/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Toyota Motor ( TM ) is planning the mass production of a battery electric Hilux pickup truck by the end of 2025, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing the president of the company's Thailand unit.

Toyota Thailand President Noriaki Yamashita, who spoke to journalists on the sidelines of a motor show in Bangkok, said the vehicle could be ready by the end of 2025, the report said.

The executive didn't specify the location where the Hilux would be made, according to the report.

Toyota ( TM ) didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
